WolfLab is proud and excited to bring you Chew On This, a collaborative mural welcoming visitors to restaurant Vandale in Montreal’s Old Port. A maître d’, if you will.

This mural stars our beloved wolf-woman standing calm and proud. The design is similar to our previous mural Untameable, but with a twist! The X-ray creates visual complexity and takes the viewer past the skin-deep beauty of the fierce face and bountiful form, past the vibrancy of colour to the solid structure of the being.
By revisiting this image, we go deeper. The wolf is exposed, cut to the bone, but no less comfortable or poised. She invites the viewer to think about the meat and marrow of womanhood and the tough bones beneath beauty. She is our version of the Wild Woman archetype.

As a women’s art collective, WolfLab’s mission is to nurture and promote creativity and entrepreneurship in a collaborative setting, a practice fully embodied in the making of this piece. The sustenance and support of our sisterhood is what made this larger-than-life presence possible. Each participant contributed their own touch and helped shape the process and the final vision.
